Ashirvada Pirith Chanting Ceremony at Athula Dassana International Buddhist Vihara
The Athula Dassana International Buddhist Vihara in Hounslow marked a significant milestone with a special Ashirvada Pirith Chanting Ceremony, invoking blessings for the New Year and celebrating six successful months of dedicated religious service to the Buddhist community in London and surrounding areas.

A Sacred Gathering on Full Moon Poya Day
Held on 8th January 2012, on the auspicious Full Moon Poya Day, the ceremony brought together devoted Buddhists who gathered at the Vihara to observe the Eight Precepts. Throughout the day, attendees participated in Dhamma sermons and meditation sessions, deepening their spiritual practice.
The Dana (meal offering) for the Reverends and devotees was generously sponsored by Mrs. Irangani Samarakoon and her friends, embodying the spirit of generosity and merit-making.

Distinguished Guests and Monastic Participation
The ceremony was graced by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Mr. Nandimithra Ekanayaka, who had the honor of bringing the Relic Casket in a grand procession.

A number of esteemed Buddhist monks took part in this sacred occasion, including:

Their presence and participation added great spiritual significance to the event.

Blessings for the Community
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ven. Wanduramba Kassapa Thero, Head of Athula Dassana International Buddhist Vihara, transferred merits and blessings to all devotees who contributed to the vihara’s success, as well as to their departed loved ones.

The Ashirvada Pirith Chanting Ceremony was a truly blessed occasion, strengthening the faith and devotion of the community while marking an important milestone in the journey of the Athula Dassana International Buddhist Vihara.
